On the whole I did enjoy this book, although this is perhaps due to my own small racing experience, which made quite a few of the observations ring true.

The themes of the book rather dinned home how much money owning racehorses cost. I think all budding owners should read this as a warning of what to expect should they become involved in the racing business!

I would describe the book as an interesting and sometimes amusing guide to the perils and pitfalls of owning a racehorse.
